Street Cleansing Operative

The Job:
You’ll be supporting routine StreetScene Cleansing operations across East Devon, carrying out a range of practical duties to help maintain high environmental standards.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Emptying bins and carrying out litter picking.
• Sweeping footpaths and channels.
• Clearing beaches of litter and debris.
• Cleaning public toilets and other public buildings.
• Using vehicles, equipment and plant as required.
• Working both independently and as part of a team.
• Supporting the wider cleansing operation to keep public areas clean and presentable.

About You:
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, flexible and happy to get stuck in.
You’ll need:

• Experience in cleaning, environmental services, grounds maintenance or similar practical work is advantageous but not essential.
• The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• To be reliable and flexible, with the ability to work varied shifts including weekends.
• Good awareness of health and safety practices.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A customer-focused approach with good attention to detail.
• A valid driving licence, as you’ll need to travel to different sites.
