Production Operative

The Job:

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Production Packing Operatives to join a busy production and packing environment working with dried food goods (chutneys, at points) on a temp to perm basis.

This is a hands-on role involving repetitive packing and production tasks, so candidates should be comfortable working at a steady pace and carrying out the same processes throughout their shift.

Key responsibilities:

• Packing and preparing dried goods for dispatch
• Filling, weighing, sealing and labelling products
• Checking products for quality and accuracy
• Operating basic packing/production equipment
• Keeping your work area clean and tidy
• Following health & safety and food hygiene procedures
• Working as part of a busy team to meet production targets
• Completing repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently
• Reporting any issues with products, equipment or packaging

About the Environment

This is a busy industrial packing environment, and candidates should be aware that:

• The work can be repetitive, with periods of carrying out the same task for extended periods
• Working with dried goods can create a dusty environment
• The workplace can be noisy at times due to machinery and production equipment
• You will be on your feet for most of the shift
• The role can be physically active and requires a good level of concentration
• NO JEWELLERY PERMITTED

PPE and appropriate workplace controls will be provided.

The Ideal Candidate

You don’t necessarily need previous packing or production experience, but you will need to be:

• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working in a repetitive environment
• Happy working around dust and machinery noise
• Physically capable of being on your feet throughout the shift
• Able to follow instructions and work to set procedures
• Quality-focused with good attention to detail
• Comfortable working to production targets
• A good team player with a positive attitude

Previous experience in food production, packing, manufacturing or warehouse environments would be an advantage, but full training can be provided.

Outskirts of Clutton and outskirts of Chilcompton – Driving license required due to location of this role.
