We were incredibly proud to partner with Norton Hill School to host our first Careers Fair!
Leaving secondary school is indeed a scary period in life. It’s without a doubt a big transition that brings about many uncertainties and expectations. In brief, it often raises that dreaded question of “what now?”. It’s completely normal to be nervous about leaving education, especially if you do not know what you want to do in your career which many experience after school.
The Students at the Careers Fair
The Careers Fair succeeded in giving students the chance to discuss local business opportunities and understand what different roles could be available to them and what local job opportunities entail. The students were able to directly interact with employers and discover the skills needed to be successful in today’s economy. They were engaged, prepared, and asked thoughtful questions throughout the day.
The Exhibitors
We had an impressive slew of exhibitors covering key sectors such as finance, social housing, and hospitality to name a few. The employers were given the chance to meet and understand their future workforce, further future-proofing their companies. Under this informal setting, employers met and understood what attracts the next generation of talent.
The Careers Fair allowed our wonderful exhibitors to network and connect, strengthen their talent pipeline, build bridges with the local education sector, and future-proof their business. As a consequence of the Careers Fair, one student has secured broadcasting work experience and another approached one of our exhibitors directly after the fair regarding the possibility of an apprenticeship.
A big thank you to Norton Hill School for which this Careers Fair would never have been possible without. Subsequently, we’d like to thank our amazing exhibitors:
