Shift Supervisor

Our client based in Barnstaple is looking for a Shift Supervisor to join their team.

The purpose of this role:
*Supervise all plant for compliance v daily & weekly requirements v customer service
*Manage performances v. Quality, Productivity, Cycle times & costs
*Understand all emergency procedures to enable control of plant at appropriate times
*Provide leadership, coach and train personnel to achieve product quality, efficiency, housekeeping and
equipment usage to high standards.
*Reviewing operations and documentation for compliance to procedures and fixed practice agreements.
*To support in the maximisation of the value of the plant and resources utilised.

Responsibilities:
*Manage operators to achieve shift output
*Support initiatives on all improvements
*Increase organisational and employee capability.
*To establish and maintain a safe working environment.
*To support and contribute to, the scrap reduction programme.
*To provide effective links between shifts throughout the production process.
*Reduce cycle times of all major products
*Enable cost reduction through improvement activities
*Ensure factory cleanliness is maintained to a high-standard periodic

Essential Requirements:
*Excellent working knowledge of injection moulding
*Ability to read, analyse and interpret general business information
*Sound understanding of manufacturing processes and management
*Ability to focus on detail and understand the overall effect of events and decisions
*Ability to work in a team effectively across several areas/site locations
*Ability to drive appropriate actions
*Excellent situation leadership skills
*Able to communicate at all levels, verbally and via electronic media

Desirable:
*Degree level in numerate/business discipline
*Good technical competence related to metal manufacture
*Degree level in metallurgy
*Ability to manage with data and draw-up valid business plans
*Capable of development into a more senior role
