Our client based on the outskirts of Radstock are looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join their ever-growing team.
This is an entry level role ideally for a recent graduate with an engineering degree or someone with a couple of years experience.
If successful your role will include supporting the Principle Engineer with all aspects of the engineering office, from compiling product BOM’s, product hand books and technical files, creation and modification of 2D and 3D drawings / models, the development of new R&D projects, speaking with customers regarding current projects and technical requests.
This is a full-time role in the centre of the engineering team, your function is to support the company with engineering knowledge and guidance.
The Junior Design engineer is required to push and challenge decisions to ensure that our client progress as a company with innovation, product design, product reliability and cost-efficient manufacture.
You will be required to help, support, train and guide the workshop with regards to improving the units that our client builds and ensuring that we have a strong close team to overcome any challenge.
*To support the Principle engineer with the creation / modification of any documents deemed necessary including:
-Product Bill of materials
-Product hand books and technical files
-2D and 3D drawings and models
-Picking List and other workshop documentation
-Product work instructions, reference documents
*Liaise with customers and other interested parties regarding current projects, new R&D projects, technical request and products
*Technical support for products and projects
*Documenting and collating machine test data and records
*Maintenance of DCR, Projects and new build files
*Manage the day to day Health and Safety requirements, including calibration and certification
*Challenge and drive innovation within our units to offer class leading stations within all markets
*A good understanding of mechanical and electrical components
*Understanding of pneumatics and the control of pneumatics
*Experience with speaking and dealing with interested parties over the phone and face to face
*A willingness to learn and develop within the role
*Experience with Solid works drawing package and 3D drawing principles
Formal training required (Certificated)
*Minimum of 5 GCSE’s C or above (or equivalent)
*Able to work within the UK
*Full driving licence
*Solid works training
