Claims Handler


Our client based in Barnstaple are seeking a Claims Handler to join their team on an on-going temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.


£9.16ph and

£13.16ph – After 6pm, Saturdays and bank holidays

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Claims Handler to take care of the day to day claims. Your role will involve answering inbound and making outbound calls and will demand excellent written and spoken communication skills. You should be a good listener, with an understanding and empathetic demeanour. You will be expected to have good attention to detail as the role will require methodical data entry when updating records from reports.

Experience Required:

A background in customer services / call centres would be advantageous.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Answering inbound calls
  • Making outbound calls
  • Data entry (Updating records from reports and emails)
  • Administration tasks


Shifts are currently under constant review due to progression of the business; they are currently Saturdays as below and normally 1 in 3


  • Monday to Friday
  • 00 to 17.30, and 1 in 3 will be a shift of 09.00 – 18.30.

Our client are intending to go back to the normal/standard hours on a rolling 4-week rota, but this is business dependent and may not be till the new year, but flexibility is essential:-

  • 8.30 – 15.00
  • 8.30 – 17.30
  • 12.00 – 20.00
  • 09.00 – 16.30 Saturdays.

Average over a 4-week rota is about 39 – 40 hours per week
